Metaverse applications are gaining popularity in various industries and academic fields, including marketing, art, design, manufacturing, analytics, training, and development. This study provides a prospective on uses of Metaverse for training and development within human resource management function of companies. Organizations need effective ways for skills enhancement for its workforce to ensure sustainability of its resources in sync with business needs. The study explores the emerging trends in training and development using the metaverse based technologies. In this review paper bibliometric and content analysis methods were used. In this study a total of 293 articles and 20 case studies were explored in the field of metaverse application in training and development. This comprehensive analysis provides insight into latest trends in researcher community as well the industry practitioners working in the field of Metaverse. .
